Mampostería Post-tensada. Una alternativa constructiva para Ecuador y regiones sísmicas

El presente trabajo aborda un problema central de la construcción en Cuenca, una ciudad andina al sur del Ecuador, donde cotidianamente constatamos que no se cumple, en su mayoría, con lo dispuesto por las normativas que rigen en otros países con condiciones sísmicas similares, por lo que es visible que las edificaciones corren serios riesgos, al irrespetar las normativas correspondientes.
A partir de esta evidencia, nuestra investigación busca construir muros de mampostería post-tensada, con materiales, instrumentos y técnicas disponibles en el medio, considerando que la tecnología constructiva propuesta y adaptada para mamposterías, ya es una respuesta en otras sociedades, con los mismos riesgos potenciales.
Para responder las preguntas planteadas, se han realizado una serie de ensayos tanto instrumentales como materiales y se han obtenido una serie de respuestas que intentan resolver ciertas barreras y, en un futuro, promover el uso generalizado de este sistema constructivo, ya que incluso tiene un carácter económicamente muy competitivo.
Esta investigación propone una alternativa para resolver un problema constructivo detectado en la ciudad de Cuenca; sin embargo, su carácter aún es inicial, pero el desarrollo de la investigación permitirá profundizar y mejorar herramientas y materiales hasta lograr post-tensar paredes en la edificación cotidiana.
