Reciclaje de aguas lluvias para uso en viviendas

En el contexto de la edificación sustentable y la crisis mundial del agua, el presente artículo, analiza la factibilidad técnico - económica de implementar un sistema de aprovechamiento de las aguas lluvias en viviendas para la ciudad de Temuco (Chile). Se mencionan reseñas históricas respecto a los sistemas de aprovechamiento de aguas lluvias. También, se describen los componentes básicos de un sistema de reciclaje, para luego analizarlos en 3 usos con sus costos y amortización:
1. Riego y lavado de autos.
2. Riego, lavado de autos, WC y lavado de ropas.
3. Riego, lavado de autos, WC, lavado de ropas y consumo humano.
Finalmente se concluye que el sistema más factible, es el aprovechamiento de aguas lluvias para riego y lavado de autos. Esto considerando que no se necesita contar con equipos sofisticados, los que se pueden encontrar localmente. Se concluye además que mientras más jardín tenga una vivienda (m2), más ahorro se puede generar en el consumo de agua potable y en el tiempo de amortización.
