Abstract

In order to find the real integration level between the 49 processes of the PMBOK® guide, an analysis is made through the social networks method (SNA), which through graph theory explains the relationships between nodes based on mathematical indicators. According to these results and in relation to the obtained metrics, the reciprocal dependence between the processes is evident, demonstrating the fundamental role of the group of processes called "Planning", which defines the border conditions of the project, that is, the space within the project. which all the other processes occur. A compact network is discovered, with an effective level of integration between the different processes proposed by the PMBOK® good practices guide. Recommendations applicable to Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AIC) industry are given for project management.
