In Chile, the importance for a road safety element to be certified lies in the compliance with an international testing standard (mainly of European or American origin), which seeks to guarantee a known behavior and performance to save lives. The first experience of the Highway Administration was the standards for vehicle restraint systems (barriers, terminals and impact absorbers) through the European Standard EN-1317 and the North American report NCHRP350. Subsequently, collapsible elements, high friction seals and certified demarcations have been included. This work shows a compilation of different road safety elements, which have been studied by the Road Safety Department of the Roads Directorate, which are kept in a public registry since 2016, with the aim of improving the quality and efficiency of these devices installed on different roads under the Ministry of Public Works. In the future, it is expected to expand and diversify this registry with new certified devices as technology advances, and consequently the need to improve road infrastructure increases (digitally printed retro-reflective sheets, and flexible delineators, among others).
